Cities are one of the world’s main responsible sources for greenhouse gas emissions. They do not just need to be decarbonated — they can actively participate in decarbonating the environment.

Peter Droege, architect and one of the world’s best-known experts in sustainable design and planning, offers ten points for immediate urban action. Peter DROEGE is an urban designer, expert in urban sustainability and director of LISD.

This intervention was the introduction of our conference “The Architecture of Transition: buildings, cities and landscapes in the prism of the climate change”. Our built environment will be the cause, the effect and the stage of our future sustainable lives. Imagination, precision and agency of change are the indispensable traits of the creative consciousness that will power design thinking and practices.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
