Designing the Transition of Grand Genève | Soil as the Basis of a Common Project

Lecture #1

04 February 2021, 17:30 – 19:30

1 / 1

The cross-cutting theme of soil is addressed today by representatives of the teams Soil and Labour: the Transition, a New Biopolitical Project and Grand Genève and its Soil. Property, Ecology and Identity from the Grand Genève Consultation.

To put an end to the antagonism between cities and nature, we must begin with the soil, as the basis of the ecological transition project. Carbon sink, source of food, habitat for biodiversity and place of collective experience, soil is too precious a resource to be wasted. Two teams from the Grand Genève Consultation share their thoughts, ideas and projects for the soil of the cross-border region. Freed, protected, ploughed, cultivated and subtly shaped, the soil asserts its role as a fundamental actor in the city of tomorrow.
