This presentation explores the urban transformations currently taking place in Scandinavia, drawing on several Danish examples, notably Nordhavn, Ørestad and Thoravej 29, before extending the discussion to other Scandinavian cities.

It will address the practical drivers of urban transition: neighbourhoods, mixed-use development, material reuse, carbon indicators, project governance and public-private cooperation.

Through these case studies, the presentation will highlight trends common to Scandinavian cities: simplicity, resilience, community spirit and a culture of partnership, as well as lessons that can be applied to other European contexts.
