The bee, mirror of Man?

Exhibition

The cultural bee

Participation in this exhibition by the Braillard Architects Foundation, in collaboration with Patrimoine Suisse Genève, consisted of a non-exhaustive inventory of the bee figure in all its forms through art and architecture.

The Berges de Vessy welcome you for a journey into the fantastic world of bees.

Through an original route and scenography inspired by beehives, you will discover the theme of bees from a biological, environmental, historical, cultural and heritage perspective. You will also learn more about bee products and their benefits, about the profession of beekeeper or about the worrying phenomenon of the disappearance of these pollinators, which are essential for human life on Earth.

Visiting this exhibition will be a unique sensory experience. Young and old will be able to watch the successful film “More Than Honey”, discover the fascinating exhibition “Les Routes du miel” by bee photographer Eric Tourneret, take a picture of themselves in a beekeeping suit, or explore a hive from the inside. You will also have the opportunity to build a nesting box, to test your knowledge on bees through interactive games, to taste and smell honeys from Geneva or to express your artistic fiber by drawing the most beautiful bee.

At the end of the visit, head over to the beehives set up on site and perhaps you will have the chance to see a colony of more than 20,000 bees buzz around.
