URBAN TERRITORIES IN TRANSITION. THE GREATER GENEVA CONSULTATION

In 2008, the French-Swiss area around Geneva concluded a decadeslong development by creating a new territorial entity, the Greater Geneva. Since then, substantial work has been done in creating a more virtuous and ecological metropolis in domains such transports, housing and landscape preservation.

However, the region still persists in becoming a pivot of ecological sustainability. Thus, in the initiative of the Braillard Architectural Foundation, a new round of creative processes was launched, thanks to an extended public-private partnership, under the title Greater Geneva Consultation. Seven interdisciplinary teams were selected to design the transitional phase of the agglomeration: energy, water and other resources, biodiversity, migration, equality, mobility are some of the stakes to take into account.

What will the Greater Geneva look like in 2050?
