As part of our Transition Workshop, a special roundtable discussion is being organized on the involvement of cities in ecological transition strategies.
In a context of increasing shifts in global ecological, societal, economic, and geopolitical dynamics, cities are increasingly becoming the epicenters of polycrisis. However, cities are also on the front lines of effective action, policy innovation, resilience building, and best practices. By embracing foresight and strategic planning, cities can transform potential crises into opportunities for renewal and growth. The roundtable “International City Governance and the Ecological Transition” invites speakers from leading international organizations to explore the importance of foresight in understanding global dynamics of change and the essential role of cities in addressing these challenges.
